Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan want to develop multifaceted cooperation

On September 7 of this year, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan-Minister of investments and foreign trade Jamshid Khodjaev held a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Botir Atdaev in Tashkent.
During the meeting, the rapid development of bilateral relations between the two countries with new dynamics was noted after the state visit of the president of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan in July of this year.
The prospects for the development of industrial cooperation were discussed between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, referring to the implementation of the program for the development of trade and Economic Cooperation and industrial cooperation for 2022-2025.
The parties also considered the possibility of holding the next 17th meeting of the Uzbek-Turkmen Joint Commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation until the end of this year.
The prospects for deepening cooperation in the field of investment between the two countries were considered. Today, Uzbekistan operates 173 enterprises based on the capital of Turkmenistan, of which 69 are joint and 104 are enterprises with one hundred percent foreign capital. On the territory of the two countries, an agreement was reached to significantly increase the number of joint projects in the field of finished textile, pharmaceutical, construction, agricultural production. In addition, mutual interest was expressed in organizing the production of passenger cars and agricultural equipment, as well as jointly establishing the production of household appliances in Turkmenistan.
