Uzbekistan and UAE introduce universal hearing screening system for newborns

On 15 February during the second day of Uzbekistan working group's visit to the United Arab Emirates, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Mr. Laziz Kudratov held meetings with Sultan Ahmed Al-Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies - Chairman of the UAE Masdar Company and heads of a number of leading UAE companies.

Thus, with Sultan Ahmed Al-Jaber the progress of ongoing projects and plans to implement new investment initiatives in the chemical industry, metallurgy and geological prospecting were discussed.

During a meeting with Mohammed Hajji Al Khoury, General Director of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, the parties noted the project underway to build a clinic for women and children in Nukus. The sides discussed the prospects of building similar hospitals in Karshi and Tashkent, as well as introducing universal hearing screening system for newborns in Uzbekistan.

Sayed Basar Shueb, Chief Executive Officer of International Holding Company, has discussed with the company the implementation of joint projects in healthcare, energy and other sectors in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting with A. Shamsi, Chief Executive Officer of ADSSC company, the issues of implementation of the project on Tashkent wastewater system improvement on PPP principles were in the focus of attention.

The industrial potential of Uzbekistan in the area of building materials production was discussed in detail during the meeting with A. Massad, Executive Director of RAK Ceramics.
