Uzbekistan-CIS: Trade growing

Last year, trade between Uzbekistan and the CIS increased by a third, the press service of the Commonwealth Executive Committee informed. Also, more than a thousand joint ventures were founded.

It is known that Uzbekistan is currently developing cooperation with the CIS partners in three areas: politics and security, economic and humanitarian spheres. In addition, the formation of a full-fledged free trade zone and increasing interdependence of transport within the CIS is considered a priority.

Great attention has been paid to the deepening of industrial cooperation and joint efforts in implementing national programs and strategies aimed at ensuring food, energy and environmental security.

In recent years, Uzbekistan has strengthened its participation in the activities of the Commonwealth, signed more than 40 multilateral agreements and joined 23 CIS sectoral bodies.
