Uzbekistan established diplomatic relations with the 141st country

Antigua, Barbuda and Uzbekistan have signed a joint statement on establishing diplomatic relations.
The document was signed on behalf of the two governments by the Permanent Representatives of the two countries to the UN Bakhtiyor Ibragimov and Walton Alfonso Webson.
The parties reaffirmed their interest in strengthening cooperation within international organizations, including the United Nations and its specialized agencies. At the same time, it was agreed to continue bilateral relations in order to seek mutually beneficial areas of cooperation.
It was noted that the signing of the document was an important step in enhancing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Caribbean.
Antigua and Barbuda became the 141st country to establish diplomatic relations with Uzbekistan. It is located in the western part of the Caribbean Sea and is a member of the British Commonwealth as well as the Organization of American States.
