Uzbekistan has opened borders with Kazakhstan and Tajikistan

From March 16 this year, restrictions on the movement of citizens through the checkpoints of Uzbekistan with Kazakhstan and Tajikistan will be lifted.

According to reports, some of the quarantine restrictions have been relaxed by the decision of the Republican Special Commission for Combating Coronavirus on March 15.

According to him, from March 16, 2022, foreign nationals with a vaccination certificate or passport will not be required to have a PCR test when entering Uzbekistan.

In the absence of a certificate or passport, a negative PCR test is required for a covid submitted at least 72 hours in advance. In the absence of both, border checkpoints are required to have a negative express test certificate (electronic QR code).

Temporary restrictions on the movement of citizens of the two countries through the checkpoints on the border of Uzbekistan with Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have also been lifted. All checkpoints are being reopened.

In addition, the system of registration and issuance of electronic visas (E-VISA) for foreign citizens to enter Uzbekistan will be restored.
