Uzbekistan installs 100 residential containers in Turkiye

100 residential container structures from Uzbekistan are being installed in the Antakya district of Hatay province, each of which can accommodate a family, Anadolu Agency reported.
The modular houses are being installed with the direct assistance of the Seyhun Education and Culture Association, founded in 2016 by the Uzbek diaspora in Istanbul.
The 21-square-metre containers contain a kitchen, a toilet and a bathroom inside. The containers are thermally insulated and resistant to various seasonal factors. They are being installed by a team of 15 people.
"At the moment we have construction materials to install more than 80 containers. We are in the process of installing them. A special feature of our containers is that they are bolted together, meaning they are designed in such a way that they can be assembled and relocated if desired," said Tahir Abdullah, head of the association.
He said that from the second day after the earthquake, the association's staff worked for 17 days to provide food aid in the Elbistan area, feeding 1,000 people every day.
