Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan: Issues related to the resumption of passenger bus traffic discussed

On 18 October, Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakhit Torobaev met by video conference.
This extended dialogue was also attended by heads of ministries and agencies, industry associations and diplomatic missions of the two countries.
The meeting focused on topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the fields of industrial cooperation, agriculture, transport and logistics, as well as organizational aspects of joint activities.
Discussing opportunities to expand cooperation in agriculture, the sides agreed to intensify cooperation in the organization of joint cultivation of food and seed potatoes, establishment of livestock farms, as well as supply of raw materials for the production of agricultural products, equipment for greenhouses and woolen products.
Possibilities of resumption of passenger bus and railroad transportation in the field of transport and logistics, increase in air transport between the two countries, as well as construction of Irkeshtam-Darut-Kurgan-Uch-Kurgan highway were discussed. The sides expressed willingness to take all necessary measures in this regard.
In particular, the meeting has focused on holding the 10th meeting of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz joint intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation in Bishkek and a business forum with participation of leaders of regions of the two countries at a high organizational level and in a comprehensive format.
