Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan: more than ten bilateral documents planned to be signed

Today, January 25, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Mr. Laziz Kudratov took part in enlarged negotiations between government delegations of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan headed by Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Mr. Jamshid Khodjaev and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Bakhit Torobaev.
A Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan business forum is planned to be held during the summit visit. The meeting focused on issues of preparation for the event.
More than 200 leading representatives of business circles are expected to attend. Plenary and panel sessions, as well as meetings and negotiations in B2B format will be held within the forum and more than 10 bilateral agreements and investment agreements are expected to be signed following the results of the forum.
Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund, which has become an important tool in expanding industrial cooperation through the use of competitive advantages of the two countries' economies and the establishment of interlinked value chains between Uzbek and Kyrgyz producers, has been discussed during the talks.
Issues of developing industrial cooperation and prospects of implementing joint projects in chemical and textile industries, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, construction materials and other sectors have been addressed separately.
Prospects for the development of cooperation in transport and logistics, taking into account the diversification of rail and road routes were analyzed. An agreement has been reached to step up cooperation in energy and agriculture.
