Uzbekistan national football team headed by new coach

Slovenian coach Srechko Katanec, who previously headed the Iraqi national team and led the Slovenian national team to EURO 2000 and World Cup 2002, will lead the national team of Uzbekistan, replacing Vadim Abramov.

The new coach will visit the Republic next week for final negotiations and concluding a contract, the press service of the Football Association of Uzbekistan said.

Srechko Katanec has a lot of experience. He led the teams Gorica and Olympiacos, the national teams of Macedonia and the UAE. He brought Slovenes to the European and World Championships.
