Uzbekistan ranks 126th in the Corruption Perceptions Index

The Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index for 2022 ranks Uzbekistan 126th out of 180 countries, with a score of 31, five points higher than last year's index. Denmark is No. 1 and Finland and New Zealand are ranked second.

The report said Uzbekistan has made preventing corruption a priority in recent years, with the creation of an anti-corruption institute and the launch of an online public procurement platform to increase transparency.

Also among Central Asian regions, Kazakhstan ranked 101st, Kyrgyzstan 140th, Tajikistan 150th and Turkmenistan 167th.

South Sudan, Syria and Somalia are among the world's most corrupt countries.
