Uzbekistan strengthens the legal status of the Children's Ombudsman

The website "The European Geopolitical Forum" published an article dedicated to strengthening the legal status of the Children's Ombudsman in Uzbekistan.

The publication reports that in order to further strengthen the legal framework for the activities of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for the Rights of the Child (Children's Ombudsman) in the State Program for 2021 "Year of Support for Youth and Strengthening the Health of the Population" and the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan dated August 9, 2021 "On measures to further improvement of the system of ensuring guarantees of the rights of the child ”, the development of the draft law“ On the Children's Ombudsman ”is envisaged.

It is emphasized that the adoption of this law will not only strengthen the national child protection system, but will also serve to create an independent and effective parliamentary institution in the country designed to promote the principle of the best interests of the child and contribute to the formation of a high culture of respect for the dignity and rights of the child.
