Uzbekistan takes part in the International festival of handicraft arts Surajkund Mela in India

From March 19 to April 4, 2022, the annual 34th International Festival of Traditional Crafts «Surajkund Mela» is held in the state of Haryana, India, in which the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan represents the tourism potential of the country.

The festival is annually attended by artisans from all regions of India and more than 50 countries of the world, as well as more than 1.5 million tourists and local residents. Thus, «Surajkund Mela» is considered one of the largest handicraft festivals in the world. This festival provides an opportunity to show samples of national crafts, national dishes, as well as folk art of the country.

Craftsmen from different regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, craftsmen in the manufacture of national products, folk artists and dancers presented their skills at the festival, and also attracted great attention from local residents and tourists.

A tourist corner of Uzbekistan was also organized in the pavilion with the participation of officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and the Uzbek-Indian Tourism Association. Within the framework of the festival, the Ministry organized meetings with entrepreneurs and investors in the tourism sector of India.
