Uzbekistan to open a winter sports school

A government decree "On measures to organize the activity of the Republican Specialized Winter Sports School" has been adopted. According to it, the Republican Winter Sports School will start its activity from the academic year 2024/2025 and is considered as a non-school sports and educational institution.

The decision sets out the main tasks of the winter sports school.

These include the organisation of winter sports training camps, national and regional sports competitions, and the development of cooperation with schools, clubs and winter sports centres in foreign countries.

When organizing a school and building sports facilities, there should be a modern indoor ice arena and an outdoor sports ground, as well as a special gym for regular winter sports classes for students (figure skating, skating, short-track, hockey).

P.S. The Republican Specialised Sports School for Winter Sports was established in accordance with a presidential decree of 1 July 2022.
