Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan: cooperation for the benefit of mutual and common prosperity

The delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited Ashgabat to sign bilateral documents with Turkmenistan.

During the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan on May 26, 2021, the following documents were signed in Ashgabat:

● Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of Turkmenistan on the Joint Uzbek-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Water Management Issues;

● Additional agreement to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of Turkmenistan on paid land use.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov signed documents.

This cooperation will help to create favorable conditions for strengthening bilateral ties, and will serve as a further breakthrough in the joint exploitation of transboundary water resources on a rational basis.

Following the talks, the delegation of our state expressed gratitude for the high level of hospitality provided during the visit. Mutual agreement was reached on enhancing interaction within the framework of the directions outlined during the meeting.
