Uzbekistan will purchase a number of electric buses

With the support of the UNDP and the Global Environment Facility, electric buses will be purchased for the city of Tashkent, the press service reports mintrans.uz.
The project provides for the purchase of electric buses for public transport in the city of Tashkent. The project, designed for six years, was approved by donors (the United Nations Development Program and the Global Environment Facility). 3.9 million US dollars have been allocated for the implementation of this initiative.
This project is aimed at improving the quality of the environment in Tashkent, as well as reducing the amount of harmful substances released into the atmospheric air. After the test of electric buses, this type of vehicle can be introduced to other cities of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
