Uzbekistan – Belarus: multifaceted cooperation

On August 24 of this year, within the framework of the visit of the government delegation, a meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan-Minister of investments and foreign trade Jamshid Khodjaev with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Leonid Zayats was held in Minsk. It discussed the current state of trade and economic and investment cooperation of the two countries.
During the conversation, the parties expressed their mutual interest in achieving major agreements within the framework of the upcoming 9th meeting of the intergovernmental Joint Commission on bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus. This, in turn, makes it possible to expand interaction in the spheres of trade and economic cooperation, agriculture, health and pharmaceuticals, transport, education, scientific and Technical Activities, Cultural and humanitarian cooperation and tourism.
Since the beginning of this year, due to the mutual supply of food products, non-ferrous metals, textiles, chemical and petroleum products, wood and ferrous metals, the turnover has increased by 12% compared to the same period last year, exceeding $ 250 million.
In order to further expand the nomenclature of delivered goods and increase the volume of mutual trade, the parties decided to sign a joint "road map" and agreed to take appropriate measures to organize trade and logistics centers, trading houses and constantly operating "show-rooms" under them on the territory of the two countries.
