Uzbekistan's number of deaths fell in 2022

Last year there were reportedly 172,100 deaths in the country. This is 2.4 thousand fewer than in 2021. When dividing the death toll by age group, 20.0% died before the age of 20, 24.6% before the age of 20-59 and 55.4% after the age of 60.

Among the dead 95,000 were men and 77,100 were women. There were also 92,000 deaths in urban areas and 80,100 in rural areas. The mortality rate was 4.8 per 1,000 inhabitants.
