Uzbekistan's ranking on the quality of governance has risen significantly

The results of the Worldwide Governance Indicators for 2021 have been announced.

The Worldwide Governance Indicators have been evaluated annually since 1996 by the World Bank on the quality of governance in countries. The assessment is conducted in the areas of Political Stability and Absence of Violence/Terrorism, Public Administration Effectiveness, Voice of the People and Accountability, Regulatory Quality, Rule of Law, and Prevention of Corruption. Uzbekistan's score in this ranking is an important factor in forming a positive image of our country in the international community.

A total of 30 sources of information are used to compile governance indicators. In contrast to the previous year, 16 (The Economist Intelligence Unit, Freedom House, the Asian Development Bank, the US State Department, the Bertelsmann Foundation and many other organisations) sources of information were used to calculate the indicators for Uzbekistan.

The updated rankings show a significant improvement in performance of Uzbekistan on all six indicators.

In particular, Uzbekistan ranked 116th out of 208 countries in the Efficient Governance indicator, improving its previous result by 22 positions.

For Political Stability and Absence of Violence/Terrorism, the result rose 19 places to 130th.

In the area of "Quality of regulation" our Republic's position improved significantly - by 33 places, and now Uzbekistan is at 144th place.

The result of our country in Preventing Corruption improved by 15 points and was recorded at 161st place.

Our country was ranked 168th (+13 places) in Law Priority, and 182nd (+12 places) in Public Opinion and Accountability.
