Visit of a delegation of the Ministry of Innovative Development to Azerbaijan

A delegation of the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on 14 December.

Initially, a joint meeting was organized at the Azerbaijani Agency for Innovation and Digital Development, where the Executive Director of the Fund for Financing Science and Innovation Support of Uzbekistan B. Akhunov, Director of the Innovation Technopark "Yashnabad" Sh. Sharifov and Head of the Department for Development of International Relations in Science and Innovation F. Hodjaeva participated.

At the meeting acting executive director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development of Azerbaijan Inara Valiyeva and advisor of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development Aghakhusein Ahmadov familiarized the guests with establishment and activities of the agency.

For information, The Agency for Innovation and Digital Development was established under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan in accordance with the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev of 11 October 2021 "On some measures to improve governance in the field of digitalization, innovation, high technology and communications in the Republic of Azerbaijan".

The main activities of the agency are the organization, coordination, implementation, including control and regulation of activities in the field of digital transformation in Azerbaijan.

In addition, the agency assists individuals and legal entities in mastering modern technologies and technological solutions, stimulates innovative research and innovative projects (including start-ups), promotes innovative initiatives, provides them with financial support.

The meeting also discussed the development of mutual cooperation and exchange of experience on the start-up ecosystem.
