What foods should not be given to babies under one year of age?

According to the World Health Organisation, the best and most suitable food for babies under six months of age is mother's milk. From this period onwards it is advisable to include additional foods in the child's diet. This can be low-fat well-cut fruit, meat, mashed vegetables, cheese and yoghurt.
However, the following foods should not be given to the baby during this period:
-Honey and honey-based products, including baked goods (may contain spores that cause botulism);
-Cow's milk (it can cause intestinal bleeding and is difficult to digest);
-Foods with a risk of food poisoning (raw or undercooked meat);
-Eggs that are not hardened by boiling or cooking;
-Unpasteurized dairy products;
-Forest mushrooms;
-Candy, chewing gum, hard biscuits and crusty bread;
-Caffeinated drinks, including tea (these should not be given to children under two years of age).
