What foreign brands stay in Russia

Many foreign companies working in Russia have announced that they are leaving the market. But not all of them have really left Russia. Reebok is now Sneaker Box, Levi's has renamed itself JNS, and Panasonic as Eplaza.

A significant number of foreign companies have continued to operate in the country under new brands or with new owners.

They found a way to come back/stay:

• Panasonic - resumed business in Russia as Eplaza;

• Reebok - returned to the Russian market under the brand name Sneaker Box;

• Levi's - returned to the Russian market under the JNS brand;

• Crocs resumed stores in Russia;

• Tous, the jewelry brand, will return to the Russian market with the help of Rashel Group;

• Valio - returns to the market with the brand Viola;

• Helly Hansen - renamed outlets to «Хансен» in order to negotiate with the owner of the brand to resume deliveries to Russia;

• LPP SA (Reserved, Cropp, House, Mohito and Sinsay brands) - sold the Russian business to the Chinese owner. Stores were opened under new brands (Reserved - RE, Cropp - CR, Sinsay - CIN, House - XC, Mohito - M);

• Paulig Group - sold its business and factory in Tver to Vikas Soya, a citizen of India. Now the company is called Milfoods LLC and is going to produce coffee under the new Poetti brand;

• Independent Media - announced the relaunch of brands (Cosmopolitan - VOICE, Esquire - Rules of Life, Men's Health - Men Today, Home Hearth - New Hearth, Harper's Bazaar - The Symbol, Popular Mechanics - TechInsider);

• Ernst & Young (EY) - the Russian division continues to act as an independent entity under the "B1" brand;

• Deloitte - the offices in Russia and Belarus continue to function under the new name "Business Solutions and Technologies";

• PwC continues to trade under the name Trust Technologies;

Became local:

• Renault Plant - «Москвич»;

• McDonald's - "Tasty and Dot;

• Yum! Brands (KFC and Pizza Hut) - transferred ownership of Pizza Hut to a local operator. Pizza N signs began to appear in Moscow and St. Petersburg;

• Coca-Cola - the Russian division of Coca-Cola HBC was renamed Multon Partners. The popular carbonated drink will now be sold under the «Добрый cola» brand;

• L'Occitane - changed founders of the Russian legal entity, stores operate under the "L'Occitane" sign;

• Starbucks - got new owners and changed its name to Stars Coffee;

• Sephora (LVMH) - is selling its stores to local management. Further operations will be conducted under the historical name of the Russian chain Ile de Beauté;

• Shell - sold assets to Lukoil; petrol stations and lubricant plant in Torzhok will be developed under Finnish brand Teboil;

• OBI - sold to a Russian businessman.

About to return:

• IKEA - not looking for a buyer for its business in Russia and plans to reopen stores and warehouses within two years. About 700 employees will continue to work for the company;

• Inditex (owns the brands Zara, Bershka, Oysho, Massimo Dutti) - continues to register certificates and declarations of conformity for its goods in Russia;

• Volkswagen - all Russian assets are still owned by the brand;

• Adidas and Puma - accepting applications from Russian retailers for the 2023 collection.
