What is the amount of savings needed for a comfortable retirement? Investor opinion

Bloomberg surveyed investors around the world about how much money older people should have in their accounts. A total of 553 investors from all regions of the world took part in the survey. The survey showed that the majority of participants cited an amount between $3 million and $5 million.
Between $3m and $5m by region was favoured by 50% of investors in Africa, Australia and Oceania, 33% of investors in South America, 31% of investors in North America, 24% of investors in Asia and 22% of investors in the Middle East.
Another third of those surveyed from all countries cited more than $5 million needed for a comfortable retirement. North America and Asia accounted for the most (42% and 35%, respectively). In the Middle East, 33% of investors gave the same answer, and in Europe and Australia, 23%.
