WHO: Marburg virus outbreak in Africa

An outbreak of Marburg virus has been reported for the first time in the country of Equatorial Guinea, according to the World Health Organization. At least nine people have died from the virus.
According to the latest figures, 16 people are suspected to be under quarantine in the country. All patients had symptoms such as fever, fatigue, headache and bloody vomiting.
According to the WHO, Marburg virus can be transmitted to humans from bats. It is also actively spread by direct contact with bodily fluids (blood, saliva, urine) excreted by infected patients, as well as through the surfaces of various bodies.
Experts say that Marburg virus, like Ebola, is highly contagious and there is currently no approved treatment. In addition, there are no vaccines against the disease.
P.S. Last year, this dangerous disease was also reported in the West African country of Ghana.
