Wildberries trade and logistics complex to be built in Uzbekistan

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev received the founders of the largest international marketplace Wildberries - Vladislav and Tatiana Bakalchuk.

The meeting was also attended by top management of the Russian company and heads of relevant ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan. During the meeting, the sides noted a qualitative shift in the structure of commodity groups of mutual trade with Russia, 70% of which are goods with high added value.

The parties considered perspectives of organization of logistic complex in Uzbekistan to sell ready-made Uzbek products through marketplace, as well as construction of full-range logistic complex for Wildberries in the city of Tashkent and sorting centre with one-stop shop service for customs and certification authorities to facilitate goods registration procedures.

The total project cost will be $130 million, at the expense of which 5,000 jobs will be created from the moment of commissioning of the project. In this context, the sides expressed readiness to organize delivery of more than $900 million worth textile products, 121.5 million worth leather goods, 172.2 million worth construction materials and $382.5 million worth electric appliances by Uzbek producers for trade on the Marketplace on the first phase.
