Wind farm in Navoi region won international «Deal of the year» award

The project of Emirati company Masdar on construction of wind farm with capacity of 500 MW in Zarafshan town of Navoi region has been recognised by PFI Awards as the deal of the year in Central Asia.
The project on construction of the power station is implemented under the terms of the Investment Agreement concluded between the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and Masdar company.
The agreement ensures financing, design, construction and operation of the power plant by Masdar for 25 years.
It is planned to raise $600m of foreign direct investment for the project. Once in operation, the power plant will save 545 million cubic metres of natural gas annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.1 million tonnes per year, as well as produce 1.6 billion kWh of electricity annually, equivalent to the consumption of 500,000 households.
