Women can also be drafted into the army in Armenia

It is reported that the Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia Armen Sargsyan, given the high interest of women in shooting courses, said that the issue of voluntary conscription of women for military service is being considered.

The message of the "Armenpress" agency says that "The relevant bill is currently being discussed. Now I can only say that conscription will be voluntary."

Sargsyan stated that the goal is to use the potential of women who want to contribute to the country's defense capability.

P.S. According to the current legislation of Armenia, men aged 18 to 27 years can be called up for military service for a period of 2 years, and men aged 27 to 50 years can be called up for military service during the mobilization period.
