Work performed by a prisoner while serving a sentence shall be added to the period of the sentence when determining the pension

With the signing of the Act, the President amended and supplemented some legal documents aimed at the reliable protection of the rights and legitimate interests of prisoners. The Act will enter into force on the day it is officially published.

According to the additions to the law "On State Pension Provision for Citizens", any work performed by prisoners in penitentiary institutions while serving their sentence, if social tax was paid by the penitentiary institution for the period of serving the sentence, work in retirement will be added to their length of service.

The 'Penal Enforcement Code' has also been amended to include criteria for determining whether prisoners are on the road to recovery.
