World Bank allocates $1.78 billion to Turkiye for earthquake recovery

The World Bank has announced $1.78 billion for the country to deal with the aftermath of the earthquake in Turkiye. According to the bank's statement, the aid will be used to rebuild basic infrastructure at the municipal level.
In addition, "The World Bank, drawing on its international experience in disaster scoping and disaster risk management, has embarked on a rapid damage assessment to prioritise support for recovery," said Bank President David Malpass.
