World community needs $1 trillion to cope with negative impacts of climate change

Mohammed Muheiddin, the UN special representative for financing the 2030 sustainable development agenda, said the global community will need $1 trillion to cope with the negative impacts of climate change. He added that "the $100 billion previously proposed for these goals is only 10 percent of the needs of developing countries in the first place."

In addition to implementing programs in the three pillars - climate change mitigation, adaptation and reparations initiatives - the UN special envoy noted that the early warning initiative on natural disasters that UN Secretary-General António Guterres launched at COP-27 "will require significant funding" in the most vulnerable regions of the world.

P.S. The UN climate conference began in Sharm el-Sheikh on November 6. During the forum, which will last until November 18, there will be hundreds of events related to the COP-27 agenda.
