Yandex.Taxi banned in Estonia

The Estonian government has decided to ban Yandex.Taxi from April 11. This is due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Kaya Kallas.

"The ban on Yandex indicates that companies cooperating with Russia's intelligence services have no place in Estonia," Kallas said. He also said that Estonia had proposed sanctions against the company in the European Union.

It is clarified that Estonian Internet providers should restrict access to Yandex NV websites and applications related to taxis (Yandex Go and Yandex Pro). In addition, app stores (Google Play, App Store, etc.) should limit the download of Yandex apps.

Sanctions against Yandex N. V., approved by the government on March 31 this year, are expected to take effect on April 11.
