Competitions in ethnosports

The President adopted a Decree "On measures to promote and develop ethnosports".

The resolution approved a program for the promotion and development of ethnosports until 2025 and a "road map" for its implementation in 2022-2023.
Accordingly, from March 1, 2023, competitions in ethnosports will be held annually.

Traditionally from 2023, the followings are to be held:

Republican festival of ethnosports "Uzbekistan Ethno Games" once a year in Tashkent;

The International Ethnosports Festival in Khiva biannually.

From the 2022-2023 academic year, the Republican Variety Circus College will train mid-level professionals in the field of wrestling and martial arts.

From 2023, every two years, the competition "The Dynasty of Wrestlers" will be held with the participation of wrestlers.

A list of ethnosports that can be granted intangible cultural heritage status from UNESCO will also be formed.

By January 1, 2023, shops will be established in each region to facilitate the sale of equestrian equipment.
