Issues of socio-economic development of Kashkadarya region considered

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chairs a video conference on issues of socio-economic development of Kashkadarya region till the end of the year and tasks for the coming year.

The video conference call presided over by the President addresses issues of socio-economic development of the Kashkadarya region.

First of all, the head of state outlined the goals and objectives to be achieved in the province in five areas - entrepreneurship, industry, agriculture, drinking water supply and social sphere. Among them:

-Next year, 207,000 jobs must be created by developing entrepreneurship and services in the region;

-By implementing 960 projects in the sector, 20 thousand jobs can be created;

-Development of 22 non-metallic mines will allow us to produce construction materials that are in high demand;

-12 projects worth 2 trillion sums need to be completed to increase the level of deep processing of cotton from 32% to 56%

-Industrial cooperation with major companies in the chemical, oil and gas and energy sectors is needed, and 65 localisation projects need to be implemented;

-By improving water supply on 18 thousand hectares, growing production worth additional 90 billion sums, introducing water-saving technologies on 66 thousand hectares, saving 300 million cubic meters of water, reducing the area of cotton and grain on 10.5 thousand hectares, it is possible to provide employment for 32 thousand families;

-Centralized water supply in the region should be brought up to 60 per cent next year.
