Ministers' Meeting in the C5+1 format

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Central Asian states and the United States of America met in New York, on the sidelines of the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, on September 22, 2022, in the C5+1 format.

During the event the ministers and representatives of the foreign ministries of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kyrgyz, the Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United States discussed topical issues of cooperation in mutually beneficial areas.

The sides exchanged perspective on the ways of expanding trade and investment cooperation in the "C5+1" format to ensure sustainable economic development in Central Asia.

In his speech, Uzbek Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov noted the demand for the C5+1 and the considerable progress made in raising the efficiency of cooperation in this format. Uzbek side's initiatives within the C5+1 format, including on the introduction of international standards in agriculture and textile industry in Central Asia, development of alternative transport routes, promotion of the "green agenda" and ensuring food security, have been voiced.

The parties agreed to continue strong relations at high and expert levels in the C5+1 format and to take concrete measures aimed at achieving practical results.
