From October 20 to November 20, 2021, Samarkand International Airport will temporarily suspend flights in connection with preparations for the commissioning of a new airfield complex.
All flights will be redirected to other international airports of the republic - "Navoi", "Bukhara", "Karshi", from where a ground transfer will be organized for passengers to Samarkand.
It is reported that at the moment the construction of a new runway with a length of 3 105 meters and a width of 60 meters has been fully completed. Within a month, work is to be done to connect the taxiways with the new runway and apron.
As a reminder, the construction of a new airfield complex continues in Samarkand in preparation for the SCO summit to be held in 2022.
