The end of Uzbek Airline Monopoly

The first private airline of Uzbekistan "Qanot Sharq"got prime passenger aircraft on April 26, 2021.
“This day marked the end of the monopoly in the aviation market of Uzbekistan” - said Aziz Abdukhakimov.
Qanot Sharq positions itself as the first private airline in Uzbekistan. It will take flights from regional airports to international destinations such as Istanbul, Ankara (Turkey), Dubai (UAE), Jeddah, Medina (Saudi Arabia), Moscow, St. Petersburg (Russian Federation) and Almaty (Kazakhstan).
The company was registered in 1998 and specializes in the field of cargo and passenger air transportation.
From 2003 to 2012, it leased Il-76 aircraft from the Uzbekiston Havo Yollari NJSC( Uzbekistan airlines) and operated its own charter flights.
"Qanot Sharq" carried over 150 thousand passengers. After the transfer of all Il-76s to the Ministry of Defense, the operator's certificate was suspended. After the president signed a decree on reforms in civil aviation, the founders of the company decided to revive it, but already in the status of a regional air carrier.
Air Lease Corporation is one of the leading aircraft rental companies based in Los Angeles. The company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
In October 2020, lease agreements were signed for two A 320-214 passenger aircraft, manufactured in 2005 and 2007 with a CFM engine and a 174-seat configuration (economy class), which were previously operated in Western Europe and North America.
Prior to delivery to Qanot Sharq, both aircraft underwent basic C-check maintenance on the basis of a JOB Air Technic certified organization.
The first plane arrives in Tashkent on April 26 at 13:00 local time, the second plane is scheduled to arrive in the third interval of May
