The proportion of the urban population in our country is increasing

According to the State Statistics Committee, at the beginning of 1991, the proportion of the population living in urban areas in Uzbekistan was 40.3 per cent of the permanent population.

By early 2022, that figure will be 50.9 per cent, an increase of 10.6 per cent since 1991.

Percentage of permanent residents living in urban areas by year:
