What do investors focus on when choosing a particular jurisdiction?

Mike Vardle, executive director of the Z / Yen Group limited Analysis Center, international experts and participant of the advisory group on the creation of TIFC, spoke about the international financial centers, their activities and tasks.

International financial centers are the center where cross-border financial transactions are carried out. It is here that various financial sectors, services and operations are concentrated. It is worth noting that financial centers can perform several tasks.

In addition, IFC mainly represent the opportunities and conditions created for foreign investors in the country. When choosing a particular jurisdiction, investors mainly focus on such factors as trust institutions, the legal system – regulators, courts, ease of doing business and the absence of corruption, capital flows, the presence of talents and the quality of life for highly qualified personnel.

In the future, the current leading IFC – for example, New York and London-are unlikely to face serious competition for their leading position in the next ten years. An important factor is their depth of capital markets, proven experience and ability to attract talents. However, it is worth noting that we can achieve even higher results than the leading centers of Asia and the United States. In addition, due to the political situation, Hong Kong's leading position in the Asian region may remain controversial and be replaced by Singapore. However, it is unlikely that Hong Kong will remain an important financial center for access to the markets of mainland China.

Also, according to statistics, on the example of Singapore, there is evidence that the national strategy for the development of human capital helps to provide the financial services sector with qualified workers. One of the key parts of the strategy is to use advanced training fees in industry to ensure more training and education within the workforce, and to ensure direct professional development along with academic education similar to the German dual education system.
